Join award-winning Detroit artist Debbie Lim for a structured 7-week journey into drawing fundamentals. In this course, the natural world provides the perfect subject matter to learn core techniques. Students will begin by mastering shading, value, and composition using professional graphite pencils. In the second half, these skills are applied to create a series of detailed bird illustrations, learning to layer and blend with vibrant colored pencils. Debbie’s expert guidance makes professional techniques accessible and rewarding for absolute beginners.

To ensure every student has the tools necessary to succeed and learn the intended techniques, specific professional-grade materials are required.

Students have two options:

1. Purchase the "Fundamentals & Color Start Kit": A convenient, instructor- curated kit containing quality materials $40.00 each (Colored Pencils will be the student’s responsibility).
2. Self-Source Using the Mandatory List: Students may purchase the exact items themselves. A detailed list with specific brand names and product lines will be provided upon registration.
